Hugh Laurie Lands ‘RoboCop’ Villain Role » Gossip - Hugh Laurie is set to play the villain in a remake of 1987 film “RoboCop.” Joel Kinnaman has already signed on to play title hero Alex Murphy; Samuel L. Jaskson and Gary Oldman have been cast as a media mogul and Murphy’s scientist-creator, respectively.
Laurie’s role will be the wealthy yet corrupt CEO of Omnicorp. The Hollywood Reporter notes that Laurie’s team is currently in negotiations for the role, and that Jose Padilha will direct the “RoboCop” remake.
