Good Morning America Anchor Robin Roberts Has Rare Blood Disorder » Gossip - Good Morning America host Robin Roberts shocked her viewing audience this morning by making a stunning announcement.

She is suffering from myelodysplastic syndrome, better known as MDS. The disorder occurs when “the bone marrow does not make enough normal blood cells for the body. One, two or all three types of blood cells – red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets – may be affected,” according to marrow.org.

MDS is only diagnosed in about 10k-15k people a year.

Roberts says she’ll be undergoing a bone marrow transfusion and she’s determined to beat the disease.

This isn’t the first serious health concern to affect Robin in recent years. Back in 2006-2007 she successfully underwent chemotherapy in her battle against breast cancer.

We wish full and speedy recovery, Robin!
