David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow at the 54th Annual Emmy Awards, September 22, 2002
David Schwimmer Had ‘A Blast’ Reuniting With Lisa Kudrow For Web Therapy » Gossip - David Schwimmer recently reunited with Lisa Kudrow while shooting a guest spot for her Showtime series “Web Therapy,” and the actor said he was thrilled when he got the invitation from his former “Friends” co-star.
“I was really excited when [Lisa] called,” David told Access Hollywood at the “Madagascar 3” premiere in New York City on Thursday. “Actually, she e-mailed first and said, ‘Hey, would you ever do a thing on the thing?’ and I was like, ‘Yeah!’ and then I met with them, and we all talked about what the idea was and the character, and I have to say, it was some of the most fun I’ve ever had.”
David will play Newell Miller (son of a former college professor/love interest to self-professed psychotherapist Fiona Wallice, played by Lisa) on the show, and the 45-year-old actor told Access spending the day filming with his longtime pal didn’t seem like work.
“We got to play two completely different characters and improv for about six hours,” he said. “We just riffed and it was a blast! It was really good.”
It’s been eight years since the pair shared the screen as Ross Geller and Phoebe Buffay, but David said it felt like no time had passed when they reconnected for Lisa’s series.
“It was just great that it wasn’t work. There was no kind of learning… we just fell right into it and it felt very natural,” he said. “It was good!”
“Web Therapy” Season 2 premieres on July 2 at 11 PM ET/PT on Showtime.
